How to import your TV Time history
TV Time shut down on 15 July 2026, and the option to download your data went with it. If you requested your export before then, that ZIP still works: JoyHob reads all of it and rebuilds your shows season by season.
If you did not download the ZIP before the shutdown
There is no way to get it back — the download lived on their site and that site is gone. You can still bring your history over if it was synced to Simkl or Trakt, which is where most people went when the shutdown was announced. JoyHob imports from both.
Three steps
- Find your ZIPIt is the file you received when you requested your GDPR data export. No need to unzip or rename it.
- Check what is insideDrop it on the JoyHob inspector and it lists the files, the columns in each one and the row counts. No account needed, and the file never leaves your browser.
- Import itIn JoyHob, open Import content, pick TV Time and drop the same ZIP. You get a review screen of everything matched before anything is saved.
What comes back
- Your shows, broken down by season and episode. Not just watched or unwatched: which episodes you marked, and when.
- Your films, from the separate tracking file TV Time kept for them.
- Your ratings, mapped onto the JoyHob scale (see the note below on how TV Time actually scored things).
What does not come back, and why
- TV Time did not rate out of 10. Its votes were three reactions — Wow, Good and Meh — so what travels in the file is not a score. They are spread across the JoyHob scale with gaps between them, and a season score is the average of the episodes you rated. It is a reasonable translation, not the exact number you would have picked.
- Films are matched by title. TV Time identifies everything with TVDB ids, and those ids never return films: shows and episodes match exactly, films match by name. Anything uncertain goes to the review screen instead of being saved blind.
- Specials (season 0) are left out, the same as everywhere else in JoyHob.
What JoyHob does not open in your ZIP
A TV Time export contains your email address, your IP history, session tokens and device identifiers. Those files are never read. The import opens exactly three: show and episode tracking, films, and ratings. It is not that they are not stored — they are not opened.
